Firstly, I'd like to thank the people that made this possible. "HUG" was desperate for an understanding audience and it finally got it. The Denver Silent Film Festival did it justice. Despite the quality loss from some strange conversion process and the conversion of all the films that took advantage of color tones to black & white (I'm guessing - in the spirit of "silent film") the screening was a grand success. With live orchestration from the musical student of CU Denver and the audience reaction - I couldn't have asked for more. The Query, the composer for the original musical score of HUG, shined like none other and (I believe) stood out from the crowd. Sam Golden (guitarist/pianist) told me that he narrowed down the track significantly, however, I wasn't able to tell the difference - they seemed to match the original score flawlessly. So, thank you!

I would like to officially announce on this here blog, that my short film HUG is going to be premiering at the Denver Silent Film Festival September 25th! To add onto the excitement - the original composer Sam Golden and his band The Query will be accompanying the film live on stage. The details for this even could be found on the facebook page. Invite your friends and tell your family, this is going to be a great afternoon!

Despite not meaning to be in the Silent Film genre, a few people from festival recognized it as such and had asked me to submit the film to their screening. I got accepted just under a week after submittion and my heart hasn't fluttered this much since I told my girlfriend I loved her. After all the work that's gone into developing, producing and publicizing this piece, I think it's finally paying off. Be on the lookout for more film festival updates soon!

What is your favorite silent film.
